The most sought after teas in the world come from the 15,000 ft altitude southern slopes of the Himalayas.
Early in Spring,usually around March, the 1st flush is harvested. The tender top leaves and buds are hand-picked and carefully processed much the same way they have since the 1800's.
1st flush Darjeelings produce a light and lively brew with sometimes floral overtones and other times one can distinguish a spice finish. The liquor is usually a golden amber.
