A most unusual tea from the Nandi region of Kenya. Spurned by rich volcanic soil, the tea plant thrives here. These nutrients translate into a tea that is very high in anti-oxidants (2-3x China greens) and full flavor
Physically the tea looks unlike any green tea you may have seen: reason is the leaf is picked and cut--then rolled--the steaming process is skipped. The rolling slightly ferments the leaf which adds to the flavor. The next step is drying while rolling which yields a slightly dark, pellet sized tea.
But make no mistake--this is a super premium green tea with a deep floral liquor and nice mouth feel.
Can be re-steeped 3x.
Brewing tip: 1 tsp., 176o, 3 min.
